NOTE: This information is provided as a guide and will change over time

While Paris is one of the world’s most beloved cities, it’s also one of the most expensive. Itcomes with a price, but it’s also a once-in-a-lifetime experience. And there is a wide range of options for furnished apartments that fit your needs and your budget.

Location, Location… Arrondissement

Paris is divided into 20 arrondissements (districts), spiraling like a snail shell. The central arrondissements (1–7) are the most expensive due to proximity to iconic landmarks, museums, parks, and government buildings. Outer arrondissements often offer more space and local charm for your euro.

1st–7th arrondissements (Louvre, Saint-Germain, Eiffel Tower):

Studios: €1,300–€1,800/month

1-bedroom: €1,800–€2,800/month

8th–12th arrondissements (Opéra, Bastille, Nation):

Studios: €1,000–€1,400/month*

1-bedroom: €1,400–€2,200/month*

13th–20th arrondissements (Buttes-Chaumont, Belleville, Montparnasse):

Studios: €850–€1,200/month

1-bedroom: €1,200–€1,700/month

Size and Type of Furnished Apartment

Your rent will also depend heavily on apartment size and whether it’s short-term or long-term.

Studios (15–25 m²): €850–€1,800/month depending on location

1-bedroom (30–45 m²): €1,200–€2,800/month

2-bedroom or larger: starting at €2,000 and well beyond €4,000/month in prime areas

Fully furnished rentals often include linens, dishes, internet, and even a monthly cleaning, making them ideal for expats, students, and professionals.

Short-Term vs. Long-Term

Short-term stays (1–6 months) tend to cost more per month due to flexibility and inclusive amenities. Long-term rentals (1 year or more) offer better monthly rates but usually require French documentation and a lease. If you’re staying for 3–12 months, look for mid-term furnished rentals — they’re growing in popularity.

What’s Included in the Rent?

Be sure to ask what’s included so you can budget accurately. Furnished apartment prices may or may not include:

Utilities (electricity, gas, water)

Internet/Wi-Fi

Building fees (charges)

Agency fees

Cleaning services

Other Costs to Consider

Security deposit: Usually 1–2 months’ rent

Agency fees: Vary—often 10–15% of the total stay for short-term

Tenant insurance: Required for long-term rentals (€8–€20/month)

Transportation pass: €86.40/month (zone 1–5 Navigo pass)

Example Monthly Budget (1-bedroom in 11th arrondissement)

Utilities + Internet : €150

Transportation (Navigo) : €86

Groceries & dining out : €400–600
